DT-5 series engine oils are formulated using robust multi-functional additive technology combined with highly stable paraffinic base or synthetic oils where required.
DT-5 series engine oils are engineered for application in high-speed 4-stroke diesel engines manufactured after 1990 and up to 1994. Distinguished from lower API service categories, DT-5 series engine oils offer various enhancements to meet the rigorous performance standards of the new generation engines prevalent during that period.
DT-5 series engine oils are formulated to meet the demands of direct injection engines operating on diesel fuel with sulfur content exceeding 0.5% or 5000 ppm. They provide essential protection for critical engine components like piston rings, cylinder liners, bearings, and valve train components, which endure significant stresses in direct injection diesel engines.
DT-5 series engine oils aid in managing soot and deposits, promoting engine cleanliness and efficiency.
DT-5 series engine oils offer good high temperature deposit and soot control, corrosion protection, anti-wear properties, and cylinder bore protection compared to earlier API service categories such as API CF and CD category lubricants.
DT-5 series engine oils have sufficient alkalinity reserves to rapidly neutralizing acidic byproducts when low quality high Sulphur diesel fuel (containing higher than 0.5% or 5000 ppm Sulphur content) is used as it is often the case in off-highway applications in remote locations.
